Immappivut Drawing Contest on the Go

The Nunatsiavut Government is working on a new project to protect the water that we fish, hunt, and harvest in.

They are planning on creating Immappivut, meaning “Our Waters”, a new management area spanning the coast of Nunatsiavut which would ensure that for generations to come, Nunatsiavut Inuit make decisions on their marine ecosystems, so that our oceans and its animals stay happy and healthy.

Immappivut will represent all Nunatsiavut Inuit, and they need your help designing a logo.

For this contest, they would like you to come up with a logo that you feel describes the waters in and around your community, and displays the strength of connection you have with your waters.

The contest is open to anyone, and logo ideas should capture what it is that makes your community’s relationship with the ocean unique.

Winners from each community will win a tackle box with 5 Blue Fox hooks.

The deadline is July 7, 2017 at 4 pm.

For more information, you can contact Chaim Andersen by email: chaim.andersen@nunatsiavut.com, or call 1(709) 922-2942, ext. 275.

You can also submit your designs to your local Community Liaison Officer.
