President concerned with health and wellbeing of flood victims

Nunatsiavut President Johannes Lampe says his thoughts and prayers are with the people of Mud Lake and others affected by the flooding of the Churchill River.

“This is a difficult and emotional time,” says President Lampe. “We are deeply concerned for the health and wellbeing of those impacted by this terrible disaster.”

The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay has designated the E.J. Broomfield Memorial Arena for coordination of services for those impacted by the flood.

The Nunatsiavut Government has extended the use of the emergency shelter for those who have been displaced from their homes.

“We are grateful to those who have worked tirelessly in dealing with this situation,” says President Lampe.
