Makkovik’s Community Enhancement Employment Program has qualified 14 people for Employment Insurance (EI).
The program was completed in late January.
Herb Jacque, the AngajukKâk of Makkovik, NL says they received more funding from Makkovimmiut Trust Committee to employ three more people.
The workers are helping the seniors by shoveling, helping with wood, and whatever else they need assistance with.
Once they are finished, the workers should qualify for Employment Insurance (EI).
The program is scheduled to be completed in the 2nd week of April.
As for the Community Enhancement Employment Program for Postville, NL the program will be completed next week.
There is one employee sewing traditional crafts.
