The Nain Moravian Church will be celebrating the Anniversary Festival Day Sunday, February 19, 2017.
On February 19th, 1776 the first Inuktitut man-who happened to be a shaman-was baptized.
His Inuktitut name was “Kingmingosi”, and when he was baptized they gave him the name “Peter”.
This is going to be the 241th Anniversary of the Nain Moravian church.
In observance of the Nain Church Anniversary, OKalaKatiget Society will be closed Sunday, February 19, 2017 and will be only air the 10am and 5pm church services.
The OK Society will also be closed Monday, February 20, 2017 for the Moravian Church Anniversary holiday.
