The All Parties Committee visited Nain last week, and met with members of the community to talk about community mental health issues.
We spoke with Kaila De Boer, Director of Mental Wellness and Healing with the Nunatsiavut Government, who hosted this meeting.
De Boer says that she would have liked to have seen the Minister of Children’s, Senior’s and Social Development, and the Minister of Health, as well as more community members in attendance.
The people who attended spoke of personal experiences, and some spoke on the perspective of being a professional dealing with helping those with Mental Health issues.
De Boer hopes for good things to come out of this meeting.
