OK Radio contacted Cooper to get an update on what they are doing after the $50 million settlement was approved by the NL Supreme Court last month.
He says they are still working out details to help the clients who went to residential schools.
Cooper says at this time, there’s a mandatory waiting period that lasts for 30 days, so the final day for the appeal would be the 28th of October.
He adds they expect to start taking applications for compensation on October 31st.
He says there is no rush to get an application in, because people will have six months from October 31 to get their application for compensation in.
