A singer and former resident of Makkovik will be receiving a music NL award in the middle of October.
Gary Mitchell is originally from Makkovik, but has been living in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for 15 years.
He says he first got his first guitar when he was 12 years old.
Mitchell says he’s been playing guitar with his daughter Jennifer, who has played the accordion for 17 years.
