The first phase of construction of new homes started in Nain this week.
William Lucy is the Coordinator for Torngat Regional Housing Association.
He says Ray Ford Construction has some footing down for some of the new houses.
There are 5 new units to be constructed in Nain, plus some home repairs this summer.
Lucy says the ground work has been started in Hopedale, and the crew will start work on Monday.
3 new homes will be built, and 9 homes will be repaired.
Lucy says there is no word yet when construction and repairs will start in Rigolet, Makkovik and Postville.
But one new home will be built in Rigolet, and there are repairs planned for Makkovik and Postville.
Lucy added TRHA is waiting for more housing materials that should be arriving on the next freight boat, Astron.
