Update from Voisey’s Bay Mine Site

It’s already been a busy summer with the projects at the Voisey’s Bay mine site.

Peter Langlois is the Director of Operations for Vale NL.

Regarding the upcoming plan for underground mining at the mine site, Langlois says they are working on more temporary employee accommodations.

He says the Umiak 1 is at the site with some modules that will be assembled for 50 to 60 more workers.

He adds there are currently 230 to 250 workers on the site with the on and off leave for the employees; there is a capacity of 475 employees at the campsite.

Langlois will have more information for you about the projects at the Voisey’s Bay mine site on tomorrows AtjiKangitut show.
