Upcoming Duffle Workshop For Nunatsiavut

Craft Labrador will soon be offering a free duffle training workshop here in Nain.

Craft Labrador is funded by the Provincial Government.

We spoke with Peggy Andersen, Executive Director of the Torngat Arts and Crafts Shop.

She says that she isn’t quite sure yet when the workshop will start, but she is assuming that they will possibly be starting around February 19th.

Andersen says that Tracy Denniston of Nain is going to be the instructor for this workshop.

Denniston and Chantelle Andersen of Makkovik had gone to a workshop to train sewers and then go back to their communities to teach others about it.

They are hoping to reserve the Pulâpvik room for this.

They have 3 paper applications so far, a few people have called in, and Andersen is unsure of how many online applications there will be.

Everyone who is experienced in sewing is encouraged to apply for this.

There will be kits provided, and seating is limited to 10 people.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 12.

To apply online, go to www.craftlabrador.com or the Craft Labrador Facebook page.
