International Student Visit Next Week

On the morning of December 3rd, three students from Indonesia, Turkey and Morocco will be visiting Jens Haven Memorial School in Nain, NL to deliver presentations on their respective countries.

According to Valerie Pilgrim, International Student Advisor and New Arrivals Program Coordinator at Memorial University, the students are from the university’s St. John’s campus.

Their visit is part of the Cultures to Community (C2C) program, which is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

In the afternoon of December 3rd, the students are tentatively scheduled to visit the physical education class at Jens Haven to be introduced to the Inuit Games.

At some point they will also experience a skidoo ride and a visit to the NG offices.

A community freezer visit is also tentatively scheduled.

All logistics are still being worked out.

The students are scheduled to arrive in the afternoon of December 2nd and fly out late the morning of December 4th.

OK Radio will have more coverage on the international student’s visit next week.
