Request For Proposals: Aboriginal Artwork Installation

The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation is accepting proposals from aboriginal artists for the installation of permanent works at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center.

The art must be innovative, thought – provoking and relate to the Aboriginal culture and community in a powerful and engaging way.

The submitted proposal must adhere to the following guidelines in order to be considered:
• The primary color used in the piece cannot be black.
• Content should be inclusive of all faiths and not contain symbols or imagery associated with a specific religious institution.
• Any materials that cannot be washed (i.e. fabric, beading, etc.) must be encased for hanging or display by the artist.
• Successful submissions of art to be hung must be framed according to the guidelines and standards of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
• The piece can be considered for both indoor and outdoor installation.
• Sculpture submissions must have the ability to be secured and be mindful of public safety concerns (i.e. sharp edges)

The Submission Requirements are:
• A written description of proposed artwork, including, but not limited to; the medium, dimensions (height x weight x depth and weight), installation method, anchoring procedure, and any necessary maintenance required.
• A resume or biography of the artist, including a selected portfolio of past and present works.
• A fee proposal.

The work of art must be ready for installation by April 1, 2016.

The Deadline for Submissions is January 29, 2016.
