Funding For 2016 Labrador Winter Games Announced

Premier Paul Davis was in Happy Valley-Goose Bay over the last couple of days to make several provincial government funding announcements for Labrador.

On Monday afternoon, Davis, along with Lake Melville MHA Keith Russell, spoke to a small crowd at the E.J. Broomfield Memorial Arena to announce $500,000 in funding for the 2016 Labrador Winter Games.

The province has provided this funding for many years.

Davis also announced the new board of directors for the 2016 Labrador Winter Games.

The group consists of 14 men and women from across Labrador.

It includes John Andersen, Janice Barnes, Andrew Battcock, Ron Bowles, Jeannine Chaulk, Sheila Downer, Joe Goudie, Rex Goudie, Eugene Hart, Jason Hennebury, Richard Lewis, Sterling Peyton, Lt-Col. Luc Sabourin, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay Mayor Jamie Snook.
