Goose Bay RCMP Arrest Impaired Driver Involved In Collision

Since January 2015 the RCMP conducted 109 checks for possible impaired drivers in Happy Valley Goose Bay.

Out of the 109 checks, the HVGB RCMP has charged 27 for impaired driving.

On Wednesday morning July 22nd the RCMP received a call stating a car had struck a homeowners fence on Lyall Street.

Police attended the scene and located the uninjured driver of the car.

As a result and subsequent investigation, a 32 year old woman from Happy Valley Goose Bay was arrested for Impaired Driving.

The woman was later released from custody.

The woman will be appearing in Provincial Court in Happy Valley Goose Bay on September 9, 2015.

She will be facing a charge of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle while over 80mg and Driving While Suspended.

The RCMP would like to remind the public that it is an offence to operate any type of motor vehicle while impaired.

Labrador RCMP will be continuing to focus on combating incidents of impaired driving.
