Labrador Youth Heading To Honduras

Seventeen-year-old Caroline Nochasak of Nain is about to embark on a journey she won’t soon forget.

As one of four Atlantic Canadian youth, she will represent Newfoundland and Labrador as part of a ten day tour to Honduras from July seventh to seventeenth.

Honduras is a country in Central America.

Organized by the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) and the Falls Brook Centre (FBC), the Global Youth Leaders Tour is an opportunity for young Atlantic Canadians to increase their understanding of international cooperation and discover how they can have an impact.

In Honduras, Caroline will meet with other youth, staff and volunteers from local organizations, and community members to learn more about the work being done in partnership with Atlantic Canadian organizations and their international colleagues.

The participants will film their journey and develop a short documentary of their experience upon returning home.

In Honduras, Caroline will most likely be seen holding the camera.

She has great skills in photography and videography, and is hoping to chronicle every moment of the trip.

The youth will then share their experiences with students and organizations in the Atlantic region through presentations this fall and winter.

They will be hoping to encourage other young people to become involved in their local and international communities.
