Canada Day In Nain, Hopedale, And Postville

Canada Day Celebrations are tomorrow, and Nunatsiavut is celebrating Canada’s 148th birthday with pride.

In Nain, a fishing contest will start at 10:30 and go until 3 pm.

A community parade starts at 1 pm, followed by some activities at the ball field for the community.

At 4 pm, there will be a community Barbecue sponsored by Vale.

Free hotdogs, hamburgers, Juice, pop, water, and a Vale promotional item for children will be available.

There will be a community dance at the school gym for all ages, and then, to end the day, fireworks will go off at 11:30 pm.

In Hopedale, they will raise the Canadian flag and sing O’ Canada at 9:30 am, there will be a parade at 10 am, and the rest of the day will be filled with family games.

RCMP will be holding a barbecue for residents at 12 noon at the shed near the RCMP station; they will be giving out hot dogs, juice and a slice of cake; everyone is welcome.

In Postville, they will start their day with a parade at 2, then at 3 pm there will be games for the kids at the ball field, with a Bouncy castle and family soccer.

At 4:30, they’ll have a barbecue and Homemade Boat Race at Little Brook Pond.

Fireworks will end their Canada Day at 10:30pm.
