NASCO Going To Rigolet

The North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO) and the Nunatsiavut Government will be going to Rigolet on June 6th, 2015.

Ashley Shiwak is the Tourism Manager.

She says the RICG will be hosting a day event while NASCO is in town.

AngajukKak Jack Shiwak and the Drum dancers will open up the events.

Then the visitors will be divided up into two groups.

One group will be on the board walk, and the other will be visiting the Net Loft Museum, the Lord Strathcona House, and the local Craft Shop.

The dinner prepared will be fish and brews, flummies and jam.

To finish the day, there will be demonstrations from local residents of seal cleaning, net mending, Inuit games, and square dancing.

After the events are done, everyone will be driven to the airport to return home.

Shiwak added that there are tourists coming in from Sweden, Finland and Greenland.

She also mentioned that Rigolet is always happy to invites tourists to promote the land and culture.
