As of April 3, there have been 9 cases of rabies in Labrador.
We spoke with Doctor Hugh Whitney, the Chief Veterinarian Officer for the Province.
He says the recent rabid attack was in Black Island near the Nain area.
A rabid fox attacked a dog on April 3.
The owner of the rabid dog said the dog was put down.
Whitney says another case occurred in Makkovik on April 1.
The dog was showing signs of rabies.
Whitney says the results came back on April 10, and rabies was confirmed.
He says they have a few more animals that they are looking at for rabies, but nothing else is confirmed.
