There still is a delay in trying to get a new vessel for Labrador’s North Coast.
And it isn’t looking like a tender is going to be rewarded anytime soon.
That is according to Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador.
She says she was in St. John’s last week to meet with the Minister of Transportation and Works.
Jones says the government is still evaluating all the proposals for a new vessel for Labrador.
The NL government had said the new vessel was going to be ready by 2016.
Jones says it looks like it will now be late 2017 to 2018 instead.
According to MP Jones, the reason for those delays is because the government did not do its job.
