Sheshatshiu Fire Destroys House

Local RCMP members in Sheshatshiu responded to an anonymous complaint of a residential fire on Saturday March 28, 2015.

We spoke with Sergeant Chris Hastie, the Detachment Commander for the Sheshatshiu RCMP.

He says they received the complaint at 8:05 pm.

The residential fire was located on Uapush Road in Sheshatshiu.

Hastie says police, the Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation Fire Department, and the North West River Fire Department attended to the residence.

The fire was contained; however, the residence is a complete loss.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the residential fire.

The investigation to determine the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
