The 6th annual Torngat Minor Hockey Tournament got underway yesterday in Nain.
William Flowers is the Coach for Nain Minor Hockey.
He says the teams in the minor hockey tournament include: the Novice 4- 8 year olds, Atoms 9- 10 years, Pee Wees 9- 12 years of age and the Female Hockey players 15 years and under.
Flowers says the Round Robin kicked off with game 1 yesterday afternoon.
The results of the games are as follows: Puck Hogs 7, Blades of Steel 5.
Game 2: Hat Trick Heroes 6, Female Hockey 3.
Today, Friday, March 27, the Semi Finals start at 4:30 pm, with with Game 1 featuring the Puck Hogs against the Female Hockey.
Then Game 2 starts at 6 pm with the Blades of Steel against the Hat Trick Heroes.
Flowers’ says the finals start tomorrow, Saturday, March 28th , at 11 am.
That game will be for 3rd place.
The Tournament will continue with the Gold Medal game at 12:30 pm tomorrow at the Husky Center.
The competing teams will be determined during the semi-final games.
Flowers added there will be a Skills Competition for all the teams after the Gold Medal game.
This will be the last tournament played this season, so everyone is welcome to come and watch and cheer for their children playing in the last tournament of the year.
