A Suicide Prevention Workshop will be offered in Hopedale next week.
We spoke with Jessica Keating with the Charles J Andrew Youth Treatment Centre.
She says this workshop is to provide front line workers as well as community members with some of the tools they would need to use to prevent suicide and suicidal behaviours.
Keating says this training was initiated by Health Canada, who provided the centre with fact sheets to develop this training material.
And right now this workshop is committed for the community of Hopedale.
Keating says she will be holding this workshop on Monday March 9 at the Nunatsiavut House of Assembly Building.
The workshop will engage youth and give tools to protect youth from suicide and on how to prevent suicide.
The workshop will run from 11am to 12 noon, then resume from 1-5pm.
She adds that there will be a councillor available who will help assist her for extra support.
Lunch and snacks will be available during the workshop.
