Turner is the Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of English and School of Music at Memorial University in St. John’s, NL.

The brass band has been invited to Herrnhut, Germany, the home of the Moravian Church.

Turner is also going to Rigolet to work on a project to safeguard the Rigolet Inuktut dialect.

Turner is headed to Makkovik today to work with the brass band there.

He will be there until Sunday, when he heads out to Rigolet.

Turner is also working on a book about the history of film production in Newfoundland and Labrador, including the OKâlaKatiget Society’s role in that.

The book will be based on a thesis Turner wrote for his PhD.

Turner will eventually turn his talents to writing a history of the OKâlaKatiget Society.

He also had the opportunity to have a look at the Umiak 1 icebreaker making its way to Edward’s Cove at Voisey’s Bay on Wednesday.
